Happy Friday! + BHLDN Fall preview

This popped up an many major wedding blogs yesterday!  BHLDN had an insider launch party for the release of their Fall 2011 collection (for sale next month) and I've scoured the web to bring you the best photos from it!  Their new collection features a lot more evening gowns, party dresses and accessories, many with a 1920's Boardwalk Empire vibe.  The frequent and heavy use of feathers also solidifies the feather trend that's been much talked about but little seen until now. We still see black accents, blush and champagne are also still going strong but they've also introduced some muddy autumn tones that give a more authentic vintage feel.  All and all a beautiful collection!

My only criticism, that wrap is really similar to a famous Valentino design!

MN Designer Joins BHLDN!

If you haven't sauntered over to the BHLDN site for a few weeks you'll notice some new items now, including some uber cute sashed from Minneapolis accessories designer Laura Nelle!  Laura is the designer/owner of Nelle Handbags and she's kinda got my dream career.  Okay, so I've never met her but I've been following her work for a while now!   And it should be no surprise to any designer that it was one of her dreams was to design something for the BHLDN collection!   (add that to my list of "some day" goals!)  You can order Laura Nelle's super sweet "Seeing Double Sash" here.  Also below are some other newer goodies from BHLDN!   *Sigh*  I wish I could buy them all!

BHLDN by Anthropology

So the biggest buzz in the bridal blog-o-sphere this week has been the debut of Anthropologie's new bridal collection BHLDN (pronounced "beholden").  This was a long awaited releases and the wait was worth it!  As a designer, I'm actually really intimidated by this collection because, well, it's so perfect!  Everything is absolutely wonderful and I can't think of a single thing to criticize about it!  Even the prices are pretty reasonable for bridal (which is something I can't say about regular Anthropologie clothes!) with gowns ranging from $1000-$4000.   How's a small time designer to compete?  Well, I don't know the answer to that and all I can say is BRAVO to the team who's clearly worked so hard to put it all together, from the artfully detailed gowns to the dreamy photography, I tip my hat to you!  Well done!
