Custom Design Work: Meg's Pink Champagne Wedding
I've just recently completed a special wedding project which I've been working on for the past couple months. Local bride, Meg, came to me shortly after ordering her wedding dress directly from Jenny Yoo's flagship showroom in Chicago. The lucky bride was even measured by Jenny herself, and was able to order a very special colored silk shantung, not normally available to customers! The silk is a delicate pink champagne which compliments her skin tone beautifully! Having ordered extra yardage from Jenny, Meg came to me to request a custom bolero, based on my East Lake design. For a perfect fit, we did a muslin drape directly on her to create the pattern. As the project commenced she also decided to do a custom veil design and an extra matching silk flower pin. This project was an absolute joy to work on! Below are some photos of the process and bits of the finished work. Meg has promised to send me pictures from her wedding so hopefully I can post some of her in the whole ensemble in the next couple weeks.

Recent Work
I thought I'd take some time out to show a project I finished for a customer recently. It's a memory quilt for little baby Otto, made from his out-grown first year baby clothes.

Cake Pops!
Have you heard of cake pops? Move over cupcakes, I predict cake pops taking center stage as the trendy new wedding reception dessert! Cake pops are so cute and just the right amount of cake & frosting. Who even likes that dry boring sheet cake anyways? At the end of a wonderful wedding meal you just need a little something sweet to finish and cake pops, well, take the cake! Just look at these great photos of cake pops and try to tell me you don't want one!

Vintage Style Engagement Shoot
Very quick personal announcement, congratulations to my big sister and her husband on the birth of their first child, a beautiful baby girl name Ivy Clair! I'm very excited to finally have a niece! Okay, on to the post...
When my husband and I got married we were busy college students + it was prior to my wedding industry days, so we never did any engagement pictures, not even in the local newspaper, and I've always regretted it. This summer I plan for us to do a little couples photo shoot featuring our "new" car, an adorable 1963 Mercury Comet! It'll be very vintage in the photo styling. That's why when I came across this lovely 1950′s inspired engagement shoot over at Green Wedding Shoes, I fell head over heals with the photographs! The bride-to-be looks absolutely adorable in her vintage blond glasses. The shoot takes place in NYC at central park. The lovely couple were photographed by Kay English and the pretty flowers are done by Poppies and Posies. The shoot was styled by Kay and You ME* Lifestylists. Here are some highlights.
