Orange You Glad It's A Wedding?

I love orange, so bright and sunny!  It can be a tough color to wear (especially for blonds) but I love to accessorize and decorate with orange, so I was delighted this morning when I saw this orange wedding reception over on 100 Layer Cake!  I just love the bold patterns!  To view the full post click here.

Workwear Wednesday: Hats!

It used to be that people didn't leave the house without a nice hat on but that hasn't been the case for several decades now. The hat’s demise has, over time, been credited to President Kennedy due to his reluctance to be photographed wearing a hat for fear it made him look old.  Hats (and let's be clear, I don't mean baseball caps) have been slowly making a comeback since the swing dance craze in the '90's got people interested in vintage fashion.  Today you can even go into Target and buy some (actually) gorgeous little pieces of millinery!

 I've been getting into hats myself; last winter I wore a little black cloche, this summer a straw fedora with a striped band, and I recently bought a cranberry wool hat to wear with a tweed autumn jacket.  I just picked up the most amazing vintage winter coat from the 1960's that's in absolute mint condition, it's red with a luxurious mink fur collar!  So I'm on the lookout for a cute hat to go with it!   I think they are great for work too because nothing ties together your outfit and makes you look more stylish than a great hat!  Still need convincing?  Here's some inspiration for you!   {All images via pinterest}
