Happy Friday! + BHLDN Fall preview

This popped up an many major wedding blogs yesterday!  BHLDN had an insider launch party for the release of their Fall 2011 collection (for sale next month) and I've scoured the web to bring you the best photos from it!  Their new collection features a lot more evening gowns, party dresses and accessories, many with a 1920's Boardwalk Empire vibe.  The frequent and heavy use of feathers also solidifies the feather trend that's been much talked about but little seen until now. We still see black accents, blush and champagne are also still going strong but they've also introduced some muddy autumn tones that give a more authentic vintage feel.  All and all a beautiful collection!

My only criticism, that wrap is really similar to a famous Valentino design!

What I'm Working on Now.

It's been a really long time since I've posted any progress photos of the new collection.  I've been super busy this summer with my normal wedding season work as well and making time for building the Laura Whitney Couture collection.  So I thought I'd put up a few pictures I have taken in the workroom this week showing the progress.

Workwear Wednesday

It's a cloudy day so I thought I'd bring us a little sunshine & do yellow outfits for Workwear Wednesday.  I actually only have one yellow shirt but after putting together this post I'm convinced that I need a yellow blouse and a yellow pleated skirt!

I couldn't resist adding this picture of Kate Middleton who is quickly becoming my favorite famous person.  I love her sense of style, such a class act!  Not like our skanky celebrities in the US.

Monday Midsummer

Good morning!  I'm back from the lake and back to reality which is a little hard.  I think we've hit that point of mid-summer where the heat has hit us enough that we're a little bit lazier with everything we do, from cooking to clothing.  But that's okay.  That's kind of what summer is about anyways.  This morning I put together a little lazy beachy midsummer color board for you!
