Happy Friday!

Happy Friday everyone!  In light of yesterday's big news I'll probably be spending my weekend working.  *Sigh*  But it will great to get things done and maybe a few things actually finished rather than having so many half-begun projects.  Hopefully I'll have some cool stuff to show you on Monday!

....And for no particular reason, here's some pictures of adorable kittens to get your weekend off to a good start.  Enjoy!

Great Big News!

Uptown Urban Craft will be participating in the No-Coast Craft-o-rama show this year!!!  I just found out this morning and am super excited.  The competition into this very large 2-day craft show is stiff and I didn't think I got in because I never got an acceptance e-mail.  But then I thought it was weird that other people got e-mails saying they didn't get in and I didn't get any response at all to my application so I e-mailed the No-Coast folks a week or so ago just to double check.  This morning they wrote me to tell me that YES I did in fact get in and my letter must've gotten lost in cyberspace.   This is a big deal; last year there were over 8000 visitors!

Save the date: This year's show is held on December 3rd & 4th and is located at the vibrant Mid-town Global Market in Minneapolis.   I hope to see you all there.  In the mean time I've got a lot of planning and work ahead of me.  Wish me luck!

Lovely Interiors

I'm on something of an interior design kick at the moment because for a few days I don't have any immediate deadlines & I can work on rearranging and decorating my office!  So of course I've been scouring design blogs like crazy for ideas.  As you could guess one of my signature colors is turquoise so I love the blog House of Turquoise!   I also love the orange and turquoise combination which you don't see as often (it's not for everyone) but I did find a few examples.  Here are a few interiors featured there that I'm just loving!

Today I'm loving...

This foyer!   I love how light-filled it is, the touches of turquoise, and the geometric wallpaper is so fantastic!   I love how the use of interesting modern pieces and patterns update the traditional architecture.  Notice the legs on the smaller bench?  That's based on Egyptian furniture design!  Unlike westerners who placed claw feet facing outward for symmetry, the Egyptians had all 4 feet pointing the same direction like a real animal would have.  Just a fun fact for ya!       {photo via  Bear Hill Interiors}
