Happy Friday!

I am really looking forward to a relaxing weekend.  We're headed to a wedding this evening and then on Sunday we are going to a couple apple orchards in the country!  The hubby wants to get freshly pressed apple cider to brew cider style beers.  Yummers!  I am excited because one of the orchards we're going to has a pick your own pumpkin patch!  I know, I'm like a little kid but I love October and this sort of thing is what makes to cooler weather worth it!   Have a great weekend everyone! 

Casual Chic Wedding

Just have to point you to a wonderful wedding over at Snippet & Ink!  Reading the couples perspective about their wedding reminded me so much of our own feelings 4 years ago. Basically of how they tossed around the idea of eloping but ultimately realized that weddings are in many ways more about your families coming together and connecting than about you two.  This couple kept it casual & relaxed yet very chic to reflect their personal style.  Here's a sampling of pics from their wedding.  You can see more here.

Balloons!

Normally when I think of balloons at an event I think of cheesy prom decorations, retirement parties,.... not something you'd like to include in your wedding in other words.  But these beauties beg to differ.  Instead of the common shiny egg-shaped balloons you can buy at the supermarket, go for a big, perfectly round, matte balloon in a color to coordinate with your wedding.  Even just a single round balloon can be the perfect photo prop!   Scout around locally first but you can also order some here.

Sneak Peek: Fall/Winter 2010 Baby-Toddler Collection

Okay as promised, here is a little preview of just some of the Fall/Winter 2010 Baby-Toddler Collection for Uptown Urban Craft!   The main theme is punky patterns on preppy designs.  Dresses will be available in a multiple colors & just in case you think I'm leaving out the boys, there are a few things coming for them too but you'll just have to wait and see!

Ahhh!   Creepy headless baby!  Oh wait that's the mannequin I just got.  Geeze!  I had no idea how hard it was gonna be to dress one of these.  It's almost as hard as dressing a real baby!  Anyways, new baby-toddler collection is on the way!  Fabric arrived yesterday and I'm actually able to spend the weekend home for once (woot!) so that's what I'll be up to.  I'll preview the sketches and fabric next week.  Have a great weekend everyone!

Office Envy

As most of you know almost 1 month ago we moved into a fantastic new place which finally provided me with my own unshared and quite spacious work space.  I was lucky that our move took place during a lull in business activity but ever since then I have been kept extremely busy, swamped even!   My workroom/office is set up enough to be functional but I've had no time at all to give it personality or even improve the lighting (which is really starting to bug me!)  The window & walls are bare and things are organized only enough to to get by without going totally nuts.  So now more than ever when I see great offices and work studios I get super envious!  Be low is a sampling of my current office crushes.

Happy Friday everyone!  I think the cold weather has taken everyone by surprise because I am swamped with last-minute orders for weddings in the next 2 weeks.  So I'll be working hard to get as much done as possible before attending our friends' wedding tomorrow!   I'm very excited to attend because she also works in the wedding industry and from the sound of thing it will really be a feast for the eyes.  I'll have a number of other big things on my mind including the possibility of hiring an intern, new advertising, and the Fall/Winter 2010 Baby-Toddler collection for Uptown Urban Craft, which I pumped out recently with a burst of inspiration by the news that one of my other good friends is going to be a new mommy!   Despite all this, I'm still going to try my darnedest to relax and unwind from what's been a pretty tense week.   Hope you all can do the same!
